Ingrédients
- 200 gram elbow macaroni
- 4 slices smoked bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup smoked gouda cheese, grated
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring no lumps remain. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cheddar and gouda cheeses until melted and smooth.
- Add the smoked paprika, ground mustard, black pepper, and salt, blending well.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni and crumbled bacon, stirring to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
- Broil in the oven for about 3-5 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
