Crème Brûlée with Orange Blossom - Vegetarian
Crème Brûlée with Orange Blossom marries the timeless elegance of French culinary tradition with the delicate and fragrant essence of orange blossom. Each serving presents a rich, creamy custard base infused with vanilla and orange blossom water, topped with a perfectly caramelized sugar crust that cracks beautifully with each spoonful.
Ingrédients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 vanilla vanilla bean, split and scraped
- 1 teaspoon orange blossom water
- 5 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup superfine sugar (for caramelizing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream and vanilla bean over medium heat until just simmering.
- Remove from heat, cover, and let it infuse for 15 minutes. Remove the vanilla bean.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes light.
- Slowly pour the warm cream mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously to avoid cooking the eggs.
- Stir in the orange blossom water.
- Pour the mixture into 6 ramekins and place them in a baking dish.
- Fill the baking dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the custards are set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the water bath. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- When ready to serve, sprinkle the superfine sugar evenly over the top of each custard and caramelize using a kitchen torch until golden brown.
