Chicken Parmesan

Ingrédients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 1 pound
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs. Place the flour in a third bowl.
- Dip each chicken breast first in flour, then egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the chicken on top of the sauce.
- Top each chicken breast with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 25 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
