Profiteroles with Chocolate Sauce - Vegetarian
The Profiteroles with Chocolate Sauce combine the sophistication of French patisserie with the comfort of homemade delights. Each profiterole is delicately baked to a golden perfection, filled with luscious whipped cream, and finished with a generous drizzle of rich, semi-sweet chocolate sauce.
Ingrédients
- 1 cup water
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball, about 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Spoon or pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheet in small mounds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Allow to cool completely.
- For the filling, whip 1 cup heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Fill the cooled profiteroles with the whipped cream.
- For the chocolate sauce, heat 1/2 cup heavy cream until simmering and pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes and then stir until smooth.
- Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the filled profiteroles and serve immediately.
