Ingrédients
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup condensed milk
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped almonds
- 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
- 1 pinch pinch saffron strands
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the butter over medium heat.
- Add the semolina and roast it, stirring continuously, until it turns light golden brown and aromatic, about 7-10 minutes.
- Gradually add the milk to the roasted semolina, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Stir in the sugar, condensed milk, vanilla extract, and cardamom powder.
- Cook the mixture, continuing to stir, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Sprinkle in the saffron strands, and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a greased dish and smooth out the top.
- Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
- Allow the cake to cool at room temperature before cutting it into squares or diamond shapes.
