Ingrédients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- In another bowl, combine the cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Layer with half of the sliced apples, and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon-sugar mixture. If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan before serving.
