Ingrédients
- 3 medium pears, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1,5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1,5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a 9-inch cake pan, combine granulated sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves and turns golden, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and arrange pear slices on top of the caramel.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
- Carefully spoon the batter over the pear slices in the cake pan.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate to reveal the caramelized pears on top.
