Ingrédients
- 8 ounces ounces goat cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh herbs, finely chopped (such as thyme and parsley)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the goat cheese into 1/2-inch thick rounds and place them in the freezer for 10 minutes until firm.
- Prepare three separate bowls: one with the flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one with the beaten egg, and one with the panko breadcrumbs mixed with the fresh herbs.
- Dredge each goat cheese round in the flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat thoroughly with the panko breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly fry the goat cheese rounds until golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Transfer the fried goat cheese bites to the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for an additional 5-7 minutes to ensure they are warmed through.
- While the goat cheese bites are baking, heat the honey and balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over low heat until combined and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drizzle the warm honey-balsamic mixture over the goat cheese bites and serve immediately.
