Vegetable Samosas - Vegetarian
The Spiced Vegetable Samosas with Tangy Tamarind Sauce is a culinary tribute to the vibrant street food culture of India. Ingrédients
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 pack pack samosa pastry sheets
- Vegetable oil oil for frying
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes and green peas until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle.
- Add the onion, ginger, and garlic, and sauté until the onions are golden brown.
- Stir in the coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the boiled potatoes and peas to the pan. Mash slightly and mix well with the spices.
- Squeeze lemon juice over the mixture and add chopped fresh coriander. Mix well and let the filling cool.
- Place a small amount of filling on each samosa pastry sheet, fold into triangular shapes, and seal the edges with a little water.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan. Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve with tangy tamarind sauce.
