Honey Ginger Poached Pears - Low Fat

Ingrédients
- 4 large pears, peeled and cored
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon cinnamon stick
- 4 whole whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the water, honey, ginger, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the pears. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the pears are tender.
- Remove the pears from the syrup and set aside.
- Bring the syrup back to a boil and cook until it is reduced by half, about 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and ground nutmeg.
- Serve the pears warm or at room temperature, drizzled with the reduced syrup.
