Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burgers - Vegetarian
The Smoky Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sliders serve as a fantastic alternative to traditional meat burgers, bringing robust, smoky flavors and a delightful texture to your plate. Large, juicy portobello mushrooms are grilled to perfection, allowing their natural umami flavors to shine through, while the melted provolone cheese adds a rich creaminess.
Ingrédients
- 4 large portobello mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 4 whole whole wheat buns
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- Salt and and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Clean the portobello mushrooms and remove the stems. Brush them with the olive oil mixture and season with salt and black pepper.
- Place the mushrooms on the grill, gill side up, and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until they are tender and juicy. During the last couple of minutes, place a slice of provolone cheese on each mushroom to let it melt.
- While the mushrooms are grilling, lightly toast the buns on the grill.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each grilled mushroom on a toasted bun, then adding a slice of tomato, a few leaves of baby spinach, and some red onion slices.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
