Tempeh Bacon BLT - Vegan
The Crispy Tempeh BLT Sandwich is a fantastic plant-based twist on the classic BLT. This vegan delight features smoky, crispy tempeh bacon, juicy tomato slices, and fresh shredded lettuce, all layered between toasted bread with a generous spread of vegan mayonnaise.
Ingrédients
- 1 block block tempeh, sliced thin
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 slices bread, toasted
- 1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, garlic powder, and onion powder to create the marinade.
- Add the sliced tempeh to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the marinated tempeh slices until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Spread vegan mayonnaise evenly on the toasted bread slices.
- Assemble the sandwiches by layering tempeh bacon, tomato slices, shredded lettuce, and a sprinkle of black pepper between two slices of toasted bread.
- Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
