Ingrédients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup fresh crab meat
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the egg and add the buttermilk and melted butter. Mix well.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in the crab meat, cayenne pepper, dill, and lemon zest.
- Spoon the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to make the lemon dill sauce.
- Serve the crab waffles warm, topped with a dollop of lemon dill sauce.
