Lavender Earl Grey Panna Cotta is an elegant dessert that combines the delightful floral notes of lavender and the distinct, aromatic flavor of Earl Grey tea. This creamy dessert is perfect for a sophisticated finish to any meal, offering a delightful balance of sweetness and aromatic complexity.
Ingrédients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons dried culinary lavender
- 2 teaspoons loose Earl Grey tea leaves
- 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the dried lavender and Earl Grey tea leaves. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a clean bowl to remove the tea leaves and lavender. Return the mixture to the saucepan.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
- Heat the cream mixture over low heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
- Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, stirring to combine.
- Pour the mixture into ramekins or small glasses and refrigerate until set, at least 4 hours or overnight.
- To serve, optionally garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender or a small dollop of whipped cream.
