Ingrédients
- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1,5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups apples, peeled and finely chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch baking pan.
- In a small bowl, combine the oats and boiling water. Let stand for 20 minutes until the oats are soft.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Stir in the softened oats, apples, and walnuts until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
