Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream - Vegetarian

Ingrédients
- 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha green tea powder and 2 tablespoons of the sugar until evenly combined.
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the remaining sugar and cornstarch. Gradually whisk in the whole milk until smooth.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to simmer and thicken, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until the ice cream reaches the desired consistency.
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze until firm, at least 2 hours, before serving.
