Grapefruit Basil Granita - Low Calorie

Ingrédients
- 2 cups freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon grated grapefruit zest
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water and honey over medium heat. Stir until honey is completely dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the grated grapefruit zest. Let it cool down to room temperature.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the grapefruit juice, honey mixture, and finely chopped basil leaves. Stir well to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish and place it in the freezer.
- After 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and break up the ice crystals forming on the edges.
- Continue to break up the ice with a fork every 30 minutes until the entire mixture is a fluffy, granular texture, about 2-3 hours total.
- Serve the granita in chilled glasses and garnish with additional basil leaves, if desired.
