Ingrédients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 1/2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples and walnuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
